Introduction
Hungarian Academy provides digital educational services, including online courses, subscriptions, streaming content, and downloadable learning materials.
Because access to our content is granted immediately upon purchase, and digital content cannot be returned once accessed, all purchases are final and non-refundable, except in the limited circumstances described in this policy.
By purchasing a subscription or course, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agreed to this Refund & Cancellation Policy.

No Refund Policy – Digital Content
- Monthly subscriptions
- Annual subscriptions
- Lifetime access purchases
- Individual course purchases
- Course bundles
- Promotional or discounted purchases
- Gift subscriptions (once redeemed)
No exceptions will be made except as outlined in Section 7 (Technical Issues).
- Immediate access to online learning platforms
- Streaming video lessons
- Downloadable learning materials
- Digital resources that remain accessible once downloaded
Once access is granted, digital content cannot be “returned” or reclaimed. For this reason, refunds are not possible after access has begun.
- Change of mind
- Lack of time to study
- Dissatisfaction with learning speed or results
- Course being “too easy” or “too difficult”
- Failure to complete a course
- Partial use of a subscription
The only exceptions to this policy are outlined explicitly in Section: Technical Issues – Limited Exception.
Subscription Cancellation Policy (Cancellation ≠ Refund)
You may cancel your subscription at any time.
Cancellation:
- Stops future billing
- Does not generate a refund
- Does not shorten the current billing period
When you cancel:
- Auto-renewal is disabled immediately
- You retain full access until the end of your current billing period
- No refunds are issued for unused or remaining time
- No prorated refunds are provided
Example (Monthly Subscription):
- Subscription starts: January 1
- Cancellation date: January 15
- Access continues until: January 31
- No refund is issued for January
- No charge occurs on February 1
Example (Annual Subscription):
- Subscription period: January 1, 2025 – December 31, 2025
- Cancellation date: March 15, 2025
- Access continues through December 31, 2025
- No refund is issued for unused months
Lifetime access purchases (if available):
- Are permanent
- Have no recurring charges
- Are strictly non-refundable
Automatic Renewal & Pricing
- Monthly subscriptions renew every month
- Annual subscriptions renew every year
- Charges are processed using your saved payment method
To prevent renewal, cancellation must be completed at least 24 hours before the renewal date. Once a renewal charge has been processed, it is non-refundable.
- The discount applies only to the initial billing period
- Discounts do not carry over to renewals
- Renewals are charged at the standard price in effect at the time
This includes:
- Black Friday / Cyber Monday promotions
- Holiday sales
- Launch offers
- Coupon codes
- Referral discounts
- First-time user promotions
Hungarian Academy reserves the right to change prices at any time.
- New prices apply at the next renewal
- You will be notified in advance of price changes
- You may cancel before renewal to avoid the new price
Free Trials (If Offered)
Hungarian Academy may offer free trials to new users.
- Trial duration is stated at signup
- A valid payment method is required
- No charges occur during the trial period
- The trial converts automatically to a paid subscription
- The first payment is processed immediately
- No refunds are available after conversion
To avoid charges, you must cancel at least 24 hours before the trial ends.
Promotional, Discounted and Gift Purchases
All promotional and discounted purchases are final and non-refundable.
- Gift purchases are non-refundable
- Once redeemed, gift subscriptions cannot be refunded
- Recipients may cancel to prevent renewal, but no refund is issued for the gifted period
Technical Isssues – Limited Refund Exception
If you experience a technical issue that prevents access to purchased content, such as:
- Videos not loading
- Platform being inaccessible
- Missing or corrupted content
You must contact technical support at support@hungarianacademy.com
We will:
- Investigate the issue promptly
- Attempt to resolve it within a reasonable timeframe (typically 48–72 hours)
- The issue is caused by Hungarian Academy, and
- The issue cannot be resolved within a reasonable time
This is the only circumstance under which refunds may be issued.
Refunds are not available for:
- Internet connection problems
- Incompatible devices or browsers
- User error or lack of technical knowledge
EU / EEA Consumer Rights Notice
- Digital content is made available immediately, and
- The consumer expressly agrees to begin the service
By purchasing and accessing Hungarian Academy content, you:
- Request immediate access to digital content
- Acknowledge that your right of withdrawal is waived
This policy does not affect any mandatory consumer rights that cannot be excluded by law.
Third-Party Purchases & Payment Processors
- Apple App Store
- Google Play Store
Refunds and cancellations are governed exclusively by the respective app store’s policies. Hungarian Academy cannot issue refunds for third-party purchases. For payments processed via PayPal, Stripe, or similar providers, this Refund Policy still applies.
Chargebacks & Payment Disputes
Before filing a chargeback or payment dispute, you must contact us at
support@hungarianacademy.com
If a chargeback is initiated without contacting us:
- Your account may be suspended or terminated
- Access to content may be revoked
- We may contest the chargeback with evidence of service delivery
Fraudulent chargebacks (e.g. claiming non-delivery after accessing content) may result in permanent account termination.
Account Termination by Hungarian Academy
- Violation of Terms of Service
- Account sharing
- Fraud or abuse
- Unauthorized distribution of content
No refunds will be issued and access will be forfeited.
Cancellation Process
- Logging into your account
- Navigating to Account Settings → Subscriptions
- Selecting “Cancel Subscription”
You will receive confirmation that auto-renewal has been disabled.

This Refund & Cancellation Policy allows Hungarian Academy to continue providing high-quality digital Hungarian language education while protecting the value of its content.
